Attached is a graphic representation of how Bandura’s Reciprocal Determinism is applied in my life. With a history of anxiety, one of my go-to’s for dealing with the anxiety is meditation. As my thoughts and feelings escalate, the environment created with Himalayan Singing Bowls (music), soft light and incense encourages me to meditate (behavior). As this process cycles or reciprocates upon itself, the anxiety disperses and I am able to return to a calmer, more peaceful state. Meditation is a behavior I have pre-designated to be a daily event, which has had the effect to avert anxiety.
