Health status is an individual’s wellness and illness levels that tell about biological, physiological, dysfunction, and functional impairment. According to Ackley et al. (2019), a change in health status affects the patient’s psychological functioning. For instance, it can lead to changes in pressure, the body’s chemical condition, and body temperature. To maintain the physiological change in the patients, first, nurses are responsible for observing the changes in the patient body then choosing the best intervention that will benefit them. For instance, if a patient is suffering from an infection, nurses should first observe the signs and symptoms and measure vital signs. After this, the nurse is expected to provide the right medication that assists in reducing the infections, provide them with an adequate diet that enhances the energy level of the patient, and last educate the patient on how to maintain hygiene and physiological changes by taking adequate amount of liquid and proper diet (Ackley et al., 2019).
