Find a hero that follows Campbell’s theory of Monomyth that embodies aspects of modern American ideas of heroism and what it means to be a hero. How does this hero embody these traits? Have they done anything to change the perception of what it means to be a hero in Popular American culture or are they simply a representation of our current ideas of heroism?
Use direct quotes from the assigned readings for support and do not summarize the stages of the Monomyth in your paper or paraphrase the text
Be sure to use MLA format and have a properly structured essay
It is expected that you integrate the comments that I have made from previous papers into this Reading Response, if not, your grade will be significantly lower.
Example:
Intro: Introduce your topic (Thesis statement, usually the last line of the intro, for this class you
can have the thesis as the first line if you find that easier) don’t use quotes from sources yet.
Body: The part of the essay where you use hard evidence to support your thesis, such as quotes
from the text and explanations on how these quotes support your thesis
Conclusion: Wrap up all of your arguments. Don’t use new information, don’t use quotes from
sources, use your own words.
I do not take late work, so remember to turn in this assignment on time or it will not be graded. As you all know by now, there are no exceptions to this.
Aside from meeting the metrics shown on your “Writing Rubric”, remember it is expected that you have been reading my feedback and incorporating it into your paper, you will be marked down substantially for not fixing your previous mistakes.
