A 1993 study by Rauscher et. al suggested that listening to Mozart for 10 minutes increased students’ abstract reasoning ability (The Mozart Effet). Meta analysis by Chabris examined the impact of ‘listening to Mozart’ on spatial-temporal reasoning. A review of approximately 16 studies yielded a Mean d = 0.14. Kenneth Steele and his colleagues conducted a follow up study in which 64 subjects completed a spatial-temporal reasoning task after listing to Mozart and found little impact.
